KOREAN NATIONAL POSITION
CIVILIAN PERSONNEL FLIGHT OSAN AIR BASE
ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER: OAB-023-24

POSITION TITLE & GRADE: Medical Administrative Assistant, KGS-0303-06
SALARY: Between 21004 – 30242 won per hour (Total hourly compensation when bonuses are included)
DUTY LOCATION: DHA, 51st OMRS, Medical Command Customer Support, Osan AB
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current employees assigned with United States Air Force, Korea (USAFK).
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: Newly hired NAF employees are required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by management. Relocation allowances are not authorized for USFK employees selected from outside the commuting area.
MAJOR DUTIES: The Medical Administration front desk personnel will have customer service etiquette. Verifies patient’s eligibility in Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System. Checks in patients and input information in armed Force Health Longitudinal Application. Obtain third party collection Information, verify patient demographics and direct patients to update in DEERS when required. Provides patient with required paperwork and clinical instructions. Assists Medical Technicians in proper completion and maintaining of paperwork. Performs other patient administrative functions when as T-Cons, scheduling appointments when required. Must assist CHCS Profiles/Templates and Provider Schedules to include the creation of provider profiles, profile templates and weekly schedules. Must ensure supplies of all required front desk paperwork and forms are printed and ready. Performs end of day processing, ensure there are no pending appointments in CHCS. Must ensure patient are checked-in for their scheduled appointments hand out any necessary paperwork to the patients as they check-in for their appointment walk-in patient at the provider and/or nurse’s discretion and book appointments; to include clinic specific booking such as Smoking Cessation and Behavioral Health. Must ensure to cancel patient appointments in the AHLTA menu if needed. Must ensure to assign Telephone Consults to assigned Primary Care Manager Nurse. Identify patients that are assigned to Personnel Reliability Program and Sensitive Duties Programs. Must create telephone consults for individuals requesting medication refills, referrals, and laboratory results. Must maintain and assist the resource management office, with auditing third party collections and coding activities to ensure maximum reimbursement. As HIPPA Monitor, ensures clinic is following proper privacy practice issues. Makes sure to report privacy practice issues to HIPPA Officer. Ensures to freeze/unfreeze providers schedules to book patient appointments. Ensures to direct T-Cons to assigned technician for booking protocols. Performs other related duties assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience at grade level of KGS-05 or equivalent experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be credited, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
Education cannot be substituted for any experience requirement above the KGS-05 level.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY:
1. The American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) score of 70 or above and successfully passing the English Comprehension Interview (ECI) is required.
2. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 509 and higher the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) score of 650 and higher may be substituted for ALCPT requirement. Applicant must submit the TOEFL/TOEIC official copies of test score. TOEFL/TOEIC scores are valid for two years from the exam date.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY (KSA’s): To be rated best qualified applicants must have demonstrated possession of the following KSA’s essential to the performance of the duties of the positions:
a. Knowledge of Air Force medical service mission, organization, programs, and functions to include aspects of carrying out administrative programs to ensure medical mission can be effectively accomplished.
b. Knowledge of practices, procedures, and methods used to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of responsible medical programs.
c. Ability to plan, organize, and communicate both orally and in writing.
