POSITION TITLE & GRADE: Computer Assistant, KGS-0335-05/06/07
SALARY: KGS-05: Between 18696 – 26829 won per hour
KGS-06: Between 21004 – 30242 won per hour
KGS-07: Between 23284 – 33615 won per hour
(Total hourly compensation when bonuses are included)
DUTY LOCATION: 51st Civil Engineering Squadron, Installation Management Flight, NexGen IT Section, Osan AB.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All current employees assigned with United States Air Forces, Korea (USAFK)
(Priority Group 5)
NOTE: Target grade of this position is KGS-07. If the position is filled at the lower grade than target grade, the incumbent may be promoted to the target grade non-competitively upon satisfactory completion of the job requirements, recommendation by the supervisor, and subject to meeting time-in-grade and qualification. Newly hired NAF employees are required to serve no less than one year in the position to which they are initially hired before they can voluntarily accept any other position unless approved by management. Relocation allowances are not authorized for USFK employees selected from outside the commuting area.
MAJOR DUTIES: Serves as the primary Account Manager for the squadron. Ensures user access for NIPR, ARIS, FES-MIS, FRCS, and NexGen IT as well as future systems. Conducts annual validation processes for ARIS, FES-MIS, and NexGen IT account. Assists the Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) Equipment Officer (ECO) regarding the acquisition, installation, and utilization of IT assets. This encompasses providing technical and administrative assistance to the team lead. Assists Unit Software License Manager as required. Assists in diagnosis and resolving hardware and software issues that users encounter, such as troubleshooting network connectively problems, identifying software glitches, or resolving hardware malfunctions. Assists users with technical questions and problems, providing step-by-step guidance, and helping them navigate through software applications or resolve technical challenges. Installs and configures computer hardware, software application, operating systems, and drivers to ensure they are properly set up and functioning as intended. Troubleshoots various computer and network related issues in coordination with the base Comm Sq and other entitles, as required. Fulfills GPC holder duties including maintaining records for all transactions, uploading purchase files into US Bank, comprehending agency policies/procedures for card usage, and adhering to the terms of the account holder agreement. In case of any discrepancies, promptly handles dispute transactions in accordance with agency and bank policies and performs record custodian duties. Assists in maintaining NexGen IT systems and ensuring the continuity of the unit’s legacy Automated Information Systems (AIS). Additionally, Oversees the administration of NexGen IT, which involves processing System Authorization Access Requests (SAARs) and granting approvals for requested roles as Information Owners. As a Unit Cyber-security Liaison (CL), implement cyber-security policies, procedures and strategies to protect the organization’s information assets and system from cyber threats. Delivers cyber-security training programs to education employees about best practices, security protocols, and potential threats. Files detailed records of technical issues, resolutions, and user interactions, which can help in tracking patterns, improving support processes, and creating knowledge bases. Maintains procedures to safeguard and secures CE-owned Facility Related Control System (FRCS), such as Airfield Lighting Control System (ALCS), Fire Alarm Reporting System (FARS), SCSDA Lift, Energy Management Control System (EMCS), and other FRCS hardware and software that Osan AB acquires. Performs periodic SCAP scans and provide continuous monitoring support for any security-related incidents. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE:
KGS-05: One year of specialized experience at grade level of KGS-04 or equivalent experience.
KGS-06: One year of specialized experience at grade level of KGS-05 or equivalent experience.
KGS-07: One year of specialized experience at grade level of KGS-06 or equivalent experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be credited, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
KGS-05: Successfully completed education of four years above the high school level in a ROKG authorized or recognized university may be substituted for the experience.
KGS-06 & KGS-07: Education cannot be substituted for any experience requirement above the KGS-05 level.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACT:
Must possess DoD 8570.01 Cyber Workforce Certification i.e., Security+ as a minimum qualification to perform FRCS duties/roles and unit CL duties. Must possess or be able to possess basic knowledge I the NexGen IT/Tririga applications and their relational database structure. Understand inter-relationships between BCE sections/shops in terms of NexGen IT applications, such as Cost Accounting, Material Control, Operations, Projects, and Real Property. Must possess or be able to possess a working knowledge to properly manage Automated Readiness Information System (ARIS) and Fire & Emergency Services Information Management System (FES-IMS).
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COMPETENCY:
1. The American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) score of 70 or above and successfully passing the English Comprehension Interview (ECI) is required.
2. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 509 and higher the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) score of 650 and higher may be substituted for ALCPT requirement. Applicant must submit the TOEFL/TOEIC official copies of test score. TOEFL/TOEIC scores are valid for two years from the exam date.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY (KSA’s): To be rated best qualified applicants must have demonstrated possession of the following KSA’s essential to the performance of the duties of the positions:
a. Knowledge of computer equipment, operating systems, and maintains hardware and software.
b. Knowledge in the NexGen IT/Tririga applications and their relational database structure.
c. Knowledge to properly manage Automated Readiness Information System (ARIS) and Fire & emergency Services Information Management System (FES-IMS).
d. Must have an excellent command of English language to include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
